Earl's horse went fast.
In a field. Earl was close to where the surge would materialize.
He began to see tendrils of blue light in the air quite far ahead of him. The lightning was forming.

“There's trouble,” Julia said. “There's a warning for a lightning surge about to materialize near Pillar. It might expand toward the city.”

“How long until the surge?” Ace.
“Minutes away apparently,” Julia said.
“We'll release contentment gases around the area,” said Ace. “Glade get us a little closer.”

Earl, half-cat lawman in Pillar, was riding his horse around the streets.
The animal curses weren't as bad as they had been a few days prior.
He heard a beeping. It was his nature scanner. He took it from his belt and looked at it.
It was a warning of a major lightning surge.

There hadn't been any surges around Pillar.
Earl looked around the dark blue sky.

Earl didn't see lightning anywhere. He rode his horse to the nearest city gate.

They rented rooms and got comfortable. The next day they were seeking out animal elders with Loni, animal mystic, as their guide.

Hammer, leader of Bonfound, agreed to allow many thousands of Aquarious folk to reside there.
Marcus found other cities and nations willing to house people as well.

One of Marcus’s assistants was talking to the leader.
Marcus asked, “How long until flood water clears so Aquarious can re-open?”
The assistant said, “A few months perhaps. We can help the clearing along with technology.”

Chapter 1
It would take awhile to clear Aquarious of excess water. The nation had been flooded heavily. An ice palace holding back streams from the Three Rivers had collapsed. The land was underwater.

Marcus, leader of Aquarious, was in Horn, Bonfound.
He was negotiating for Aquarious people to live temporarily in other nations.

Part 5
Chapter 5
Three matches to three. The final match commenced.
Ahmed landed on Calvin's body and headgear. Calvin stepped backward. Ahmed went after him, landing twice more on Calvin's headgear.
Calvin backed away some more. When Ahmed was in range again Calvin unleashed a flurry of punches at Ahmed's headgear. He landed three shots on Ahmed's headgear.
Ahmed pierced Calvin with a body shot. Calvin stumbled. Ahmed went on the attack, throwing punches at Calvin.
Calvin took another body shot; he came close to collapsing. He began throwing at Ahmed's headgear. His speed kicked in.
He landed twice more on Ahmed's headgear before Ahmed landed again.
Chapter 6
The bell rang; the match was over.
Calvin was declared the victor.
The crowd was lit up with excitement.

Chapter 3
Ahmed won the next two matches. He battered Calvin’s body and headgear in the process.
Chapter 4
It was the fifth match. (Three matches to one for Ahmed.)
Calvin stayed on his toes and moved. He edged out a victory.

Ahmed almost knocked Calvin down again with a straight right.
Calvin kept his balance. He found some shots and won another match.

Chapter 1
It was time for Ahmed, leader of the nation of Gale, to face Calvin, leader of Paradise City, in the bracket’s final.
The announcer called Calvin’s name.

Ahmed was called to the ring.
Chapter 2
The first match began.
Ahmed was circling; Calvin was turning and jabbing.
Ahmed lunged forward and threw; a short punch hit Calvin’s headgear. Calvin lost his footing and fell. The match ended.

The second match.
Calvin was looking for head shots. Ahmed was landing on Calvin's body.
Calvin eventually won the match.

Chapter 3
Leo charged at Calvin as the second match began unfolding.
Calvin moved around.
Leo's head movement evaded Calvin's jabs.
Calvin stepped in and they began trading.
They each landed a number of blows. Calvin landed on Leo's headgear five times and the match ended.
Chapter 4
Matches went on.
It was three matches to three.
The bell rang; the combatants stepped toward each other.

Leo had been hurting Calvin’s body with punches in the previous matches.
Now Calvin fought on the inside, side-stepping and throwing many shots.
Leo hit Calvin's headgear then hard on the body.
Calvin continued side-stepping and swinging.
He landed on Leo's headgear again and heard the bell. Calvin won the set.

Chapter 1
Calvin won his sets over the next two days. He was winning comfortably.
His next opponent was a city leader from Stoneborough named Leonardo. If Calvin won the set against Leo he would face Ahmed for the bracket trophy in the final.
Chapter 2
Leo was in the ring.
Calvin was called in.
The crowd cheered.

The first match.
Leo bulled forward, head down and swinging.
Calvin was caught on his headgear a few times. He dodged away. He jabbed Leo's headgear twice as Leo was advancing.
Leo slammed a punch into Calvin's midsection.
Calvin was caught off guard; gasping he went to a knee.

Chapter 5
“There is a fine pub we must visit while you're here,” Tarver said to Calvin. “After you've finished winning that tournament bracket.”
Calvin said, “Sounds good. Winning might be trouble though, Ahmed of Diamond usually wins the leaders tournaments.”

Calvin woke the next morning feeling ready to compete in the tournament.

Olaf won the next two matches.
Calvin found a rhythm and took two matches.

In the following match Calvin's footwork functioned to perfection. Within half a minute the match had concluded; Calvin won without taking a punch.
Chapter 4
Calvin went to the city castle with his convoy. The Spirit Island governments were hosting them.
Calvin dined with Tarver, the nation's leader, and others in one of the dining rooms.

Calvin went to the large ring and entered. He was in the tournament's leader bracket.
A city leader from Gemini named Olaf was called to the ring.

The match rules were that five punches to the headgear (or taking a knee) ended a match. The first to four matches won the set.
Chapter 2
Calvin circled Olaf, jabbing and ducking.
Olaf swung with power, hitting Calvin's body multiple times.
Calvin landed five shots to Olaf's headgear but had taken a beating to his body.
The match concluded. The fighters went to their corners until the next match began.

He dismounted his horse; his stun-bow came out.
Many of those disputing were rabbit-people. Earl tried to calm them.
Stun-bows began going off.
Earl's instincts then guided him through stunning all the stun-bow wielders in sight.
Twenty rabbit-people were on the ground stunned.

Many in the Rit governments would be busy preparing for the ventures.

The moose elders stared at the group.
One responded to Ace, “Thank you.”
Loni told Ace, “Tell them we'll bring them shelters right away.”
Ace communicated this.
Chapter 6
Luxuries such as foods, beverages, catnip-type-luxuries were left for the moose.
The group traveled back to Air.
Loni said to Ace during the ride, “I want to visit more animal elders in other nations with you. Perhaps if you express our apology to enough elders the animal curses will ease.”
Ace agreed.

“Same, Ace,” Loni said. “Thank you for coming. I have new locations of animal elders. We're taking them luxuries. Come with us to communicate with them. You're the only person I've heard of that can communicate with animals psychically.”

Diplomats and leaders gathered in a conference hall in Horn's city castle.

The first meeting began.
“It's good to see everyone. I'm Hammer. I'm giving the floor to Sonya of Gaia; she's going to give us updates on the curses.”
Sonya went on the stage.
“Thank you Hammer,” she said. “The lightning surges are responding well to the contentment gases and holy water. We believe we can greatly heal the curses with these methods; thus potentially re-opening the evacuated nations.
“The animal curses are tense right now due to relocations and lack of shelters. Shelters and luxuries will be given over and the animal curses will soothe as well. I'm happy to report that we might be able to greatly heal the curses.”

Weth and her group went on their ship. The ship flew off.
Glade steered the convoy's vehicle back to where Ace was.

The wall seemed to slow.
Ace's blood was rushing.

The wall came to a stop in front of Ace.

Ace stood in place, the surge a couple of meters away from him.
He focused on the lightning to hold.

The lightning surge expanded toward the fleeing group.
Ace heard Core, “You can switch to your new form; I can switch you to it. Drop your gear and hold the lightning back. Or we're all going to be sizzled.”

Ace threw off the heat gear on his upper body.
He was in his new form; he had long red hair and red eyes.
Core had said to Ace, “Command the lightning psychically as you would communicate psychically.”
The surge was twenty or more meters from him. The wall of lightning moved at them.

Another ship arrived, releasing stabilizers.
The quake eased.

Ships landed in part of Tranquil.
Ace was back up and moving. He and the convoy left their ship in heat gear. Lightning surges around the country made for extreme heat.
Weth's ship was nearby. Priests and others from Weregoyle got out, also with heat gear on.
Cases of holy water were brought out.
Chapter 2
The group carried holy water toward the nearest surge.
Ace, walking with others, heard Core's voice, “Ace, you have a new form; the lightning that struck you gave you a new form. It must be important, transformer.
“As I understand it your new form can endure extreme elements and control elements partially. You should be able to control lightning to some degree. If a surge happens upon us you might be able to stop it while we arrange an escape.”
