Part 1
Chapter 3
Seto was quiet.
Orion talked some.
Others in the lounge weren't so lively.
The storm raged outside.
Seto noticed the chain-artifact begin to rise from the bar.
“Huh?”
The chain rose a foot over the bar, floating.
Orion noticed, saying, “What the?”
Seto thought for a moment and then said, “Ah. This could be a guide-artifact. I saw fire briefly behind the bar. Heavy wind and rain, a fireball. The artifact is giving us a warning. You've heard of conflicting artifacts?”
“You saw a fireball?”
“I did.”
Orion thought before saying, “Indeed, it could be a guide-artifact warning us of conflicting artifacts.”
Conflicting artifacts with certain traits could cause disaster if left together. Dangerous storms were known to form if conflicting artifacts were left together.
“You'll want to dump those artifacts you use separately,” Seto said. “A storm might strike that upends the ship.”
“Not great. I use those artifacts for my show.”
“You'll get new ones. You must, seer. Our voyage might end badly if not.”
“Aye, you're right.”
The two seers went to Orion’s room.
Chapter 4
Orion laid all his artifacts out.
They threw an artifact off the ship each hour.
