Chapter 1

That night.

Ellen had been called to a meeting at ten PM. She met with a male scientist in the throne room.

“Madam,” the scientist.

“What is the news?” 

“The volcanoes. Nature scanners are indicating they may erupt very soon. The tech the Rit folk put in the volcanoes to prevent eruptions must be failing with the nature curses.”

Ellen considered.

“We could ask some Rit folk to fly over and put new tech in,” she said. “Or we could evacuate to the north.”

“The curses seem to be getting worse around the planet,” the scientist said.

“I'll call some in Rit and ask their advice. I'll decide on our course of action shortly.”

“Madam.”

Chapter 2

After speaking to some in Rit the next morning Ellen didn't feel confident the tech would hold the volcanoes back.
